Fife and Drums Shore Road
With the parade season coming to an end, it becomes its busiest. With two parades to do on Saturday night the decision was made to attend the Fife and Drums Shore Road first and then onto Annalong.
We arrived shortly after 7:30pm on the shore road and saw straight away that there was a good crowd of spectators along the route, which was very pleasing to see for the host band.
The host band, Fife and Drums Shore Road, are a small and tight Melody Flute outfit, who are a very good band, great sound which is unique, and their uniforms look the part. This Year they have upped their ante and are a challenge to all the so called bigger bands, which is fantastic to see, showing that its quality not quantity that you need
Along the start, we were able to view Dunloy accordion, along with the two Scottish bands and a few of the local bands, including Shankill Road Defenders, Pride of the Shore and the Rising Sons East Belfast, all of whom were going well, especially Dunloy and Pride of the Shore.
The band paraded off at around 8pm from the start point. Seemed to be the best point for the spectators to watch as they saw the bands parading twice, each getting a round of applause which was good to see.
The band tonight was made up of 5 girls in the Colour Party, 7 Drummers, Craig on the Mace, Cutter on the Bass, Nigel on the cymbals and 26 fluters. Again another night were the majority of the bands membership was made up of the mainly younger members.
Band was sweet, sharp, crisp and loud tonight on parade, no stops, just a good flowing parade, with the flute corps impressing the most. Senior Service, Adjutant, Young May Moon, Big Bush, Yee Haa and Apprentice Boys all sounding well so well done to all the members for putting on a great show and performance.
