The Mourne Young Defenders continue to carry the name of our former member ALAN JOHNSTON emblazained on our Band Standard.

It is with heartfelt pride that we remember Alan Johnston and on 12th July morning each year, the band comes to a halt infront of Mourne Presbytyrian Church and a designated member of the Mourne Young Defenders lays a wreath on Alan Johnstons grave, on behalf of all those that have worn the colours of the Mourne Young Defenders Band.

Alan Johnston was 23 years of age when he was murdered at his place of work on February 1988.
